Poratdown Integrated Nursery and Primary School has been awarded the prestigious Rights Respecting School by UNICEF.
Rights Respecting School Portadown Integrated Nursery and Primary is a Rights Respecting School – that means we put the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) at the heart of everything we do. We have recieved the "Rights Respecting Award" which shows that we promote children's rights and empower them to become global citizens. A rights-respecting school not only teaches about children’s rights but also models rights and respect in all its relationships: between teachers / adults and pupils, between adults and between pupils. The convention recognises that all children have rights such as: • the right to an education and the right to clean water. • the right to be safe Alongside these rights comes responsibilities, such as 'it is our responsibility to listen in lessons.'
